Open the sealed pouch and remove the test. Remove the purple lid to expose the tip.Point the tip down and hold the test so that the tip is held in the urine stream for at least 10 seconds. Ensure that you are peeing on the side of the tip with the slots in. Our current test has slots on the opposite side to the results window but there may still be some tests in circulation which have the slots on the same side as the results window.
Or if you have taken a urine sample place the test tip vertically into the urine sample, making sure the slots are covered with urine. Leave the strip in the urine for at least 8 seconds (recommend 10 seconds). Replace the purple lid and place on a dry flat surface with the results window upwards. Wait for coloured bands to appear, depending on the concentration of HCG, results can be seen in as little as 40 seconds. However to confirm a negative result the complete reaction time (5 minutes) is required. Discard the test after use, put the used test in a special container and if possible regard it as infectious.
